What are the eligibility criteria to apply for Golden Visa?

Investors

Public investment

If you invest to an investment fund, you can be given a Golden Visa for ten years without a sponsor if you meet the following requirements

  • Submission of a document from an investment fund with UAE accreditation confirming the investor’s two million AED deposit.
  • Or a Memorandum of Association declaring that the investor’s capital is not less than AED 2 million and a valid commercial or industrial license.
  • Submitting a document from the Federal Tax Authority confirming that the investor pays the government at least AED 250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand) a year.
  • Additionally, the invested capital must be yours entirely and not a loan.
  • Proof of medical insurance for them and their family.

Real Estate

If you own a property or a group of properties, you may be granted a Golden visa for a period of 5 years, renewable on the same terms and without the need for a sponsor, subject to the following conditions:

  • Being able to provide a letter from the respective emirate’s land department stating that the Golden Visa Applicant owns one or more properties worth at least two million dirhams
  • Documents stating a loan from a specific local bank that has been approved by the competent local entity.

Entrepreneur

If you are an entrepreneur, you may be eligible for a Golden visa for a period of five years. You must have approval letters from the following parties:

  • An auditor in the UAE certifying that the project is worth at least 500,000 dirhams
  • The emirate’s authorities stating that the project is of a technical or future-oriented nature

Doctors & Scientists:

  • A letter of authorization from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention to practise medicine (for doctors).
  • A letter of recommendation from the Emirates Council of Scientists or a letter from the Mohammed bin Rashid Medal Secretariat stating that the applicant has been awarded the Medal of Scientific Excellence (for scientists).

Inventors:

  • A letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Economy stating that the applicant’s patent adds value to the country’s economy.

Creative people in the fields of culture and art​

A letter of approval from the respective emirate’s department of culture and arts

Executive Directors

  • A copy of a university degree accredited by the Ministry of Education with a minimum educational attainment of a bachelor’s degree
  • A letter of experience stating that you have held the same position for at least 5 years.
  • A salary certificate with a salary of at least AED 50,000 and a valid work contract

Students

High School

If you are a high school student and a national-level topper, (with a minimum grade of 95 per cent in public or private secondary school) you may be granted a Golden visa for 5 years without a sponsor. You would need:

  • A recommendation letter from Ministry of Education (Emirates Schools Establishment).

University students

If you are an outstanding university student, you may be granted a Golden visa for a period of ten years without the need for a sponsor, provided that you meet the following criteria:

  • The Ministry of Education must assign the university an A or B rating.
  • A letter of recommendation from the university, an accredited graduation certificate, or an accredited academic record stating that the student’s cumulative GPA is greater than 3.5 for A class universities and 3.8 for B class universities is submitted.
  • You haven’t graduated in more than two years.

Foreign university students

If you are an outstanding foreign university student,you may be granted a Golden visa for a period of ten years without the need for a sponsor, provided that:

  • According to the Ministry of Education’s recognised rating system, the university is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world.
  • The cumulative GPA of the student is at least 3.5.
  • You haven’t graduated in more than two years.
  • The Ministry of Education has accredited the graduation certificate

Pioneers of humanitarian work:

Pioneers of humanitarian work:

If you are a humanitarian pioneer, you may be eligible for a Golden visa for ten years. To be considered a humanitarian pioneer, you must fall into one of the following categories:

  • Members and outstanding employees who have worked for at least five years for international and regional organisations
  • Members and outstanding employees who have worked for civil associations and public interest institutions for at least five years
  • Individuals who have received an appreciation award from a local, regional, or international humanitarian organisation.
  • Funders of humanitarian work must provide support in the amount of two million uae dirhams or its equivalent.
